FAQ

Frequently asked questions

InkQueue is a cloud print management platform for anyone who prints — from individuals at home to teams at work. It lets you submit, queue, and release print jobs from any device, with real-time printer status monitoring and smart job routing.

The relay agent is a lightweight program you install on any machine connected to your printers — a home Raspberry Pi, a Mac mini, or an office server. It creates a secure WebSocket connection to InkQueue's cloud and bridges print jobs to your physical printers via CUPS. No port forwarding or VPN needed.

Any printer that works with CUPS (Common UNIX Printing System) is supported. This includes virtually all modern printers from HP, Epson, Canon, Brother, and others. The relay agent runs on Linux and macOS.

Yes! InkQueue is fully open source and available on GitHub. You can self-host, contribute, or inspect the code. The hosted version at app.inkqueue.com is the easiest way to get started.

Yes. The free plan includes 1 relay agent, up to 10 users, and unlimited print jobs — perfect for personal use or a small household. It's free forever with no credit card required. Upgrade to Pro when you need more relays or users.

Users can upload PDFs directly from the web dashboard, or install the InkQueue virtual printer driver on their device. With the virtual printer, any application's "Print" dialog sends the job directly to InkQueue.

Built in the open

InkQueue is open source. Browse the code, open issues, contribute features, or self-host your own instance. Built with Cloudflare Workers, Hono, React, and D1.
